MacKenzie-Childs Ltd. is a company specializing in high-end, handpainted pottery, furniture and other baubles. Their products are sold through stores such as Neimann-Marcus. My job was to design and make sure bi-weekly, full-page ads were readyto run in the New York Times Magazine. I enjoyed the task--it helped me learn Photoshop inside and out.

For this ad, Heather MacKenzie-Childs, the daughter of Richard and Victoria (who started the company), FedExed the painted border from Paris. The mouse was freeze-dried (I know, but it was the only mouse we could find), and the chick pooped when we shot it on video. I manipulated the photos, created a printable picture from the video, and typed in the story of Heather's childhood tea party around the photos. Nothing in this ad is as it seems! If you've ever wondered what tuffets are, they're what the chick and mouse are standing on. MacKenzie-Childs has lots of them, in all sizes.
