This was my first paid job in graphic arts, so it holds a special place for me. I was asked to do an illustration for a professional trade journal for elementary school teachers. The issue was about oral language, and I wanted a colorful, happy way to portray kids communicating (diversity was important, and I was tired of the usual stock photos showing kids of different ethnicities). I Iearned all about the wonders of Illustrator and Painter with this one. (I didn't design the masthead and layout, though!)
